Ironwork

Can you spot the difference?

Many people will wonder why it may seems more expensive compared to some ranges available in the cheaper sores.

The ironwork the we sell here at the Potting Shed is of high quality.  It is mostly assembled in Somerset .  Some of the items will be made in very low quantities, so your item will be quite individual.  None of the items require self assembly, larger items are welded into sold structures whereas self assembly have weak points at connections

The steel used is solid bar, where many manufactures use tubular sections to reduces cost for shipping from the far east and cut cost of raw material.  Just do a simple weight test and see how much the items weigh compared to the cheaper version.

Most joints are MIG welded by a qualified welder, where many of the mass produced items are resistance welded which is prone to coming apart after some use.

Larger items such as obelisks are painted by hand, primer then two coats of the final finish. Smaller its like boot racks are powder coated for durability

If you can't see what you want, or would like an item in a difference colour please ask a member of staff.   We hope to be increasing the range of products regularly.
